  • Question

  • Hi,

I have not given any Microsoft Certification Exam earlier. I have a good experience of Windows Forms Application Development and so I am planning to give Exam 70-505.

Please let me know is there any prerequisite exam which I need to write before this exam.

Do I need to write Exam 70-536 before Exam 70-505?

    Thanks

Answers

  • Its not the order of the exams that matter just the combination of them that gives you the cert.

You need both exams to qualify for the MCTS

    Hi ,

As Microsoft revised : Revised Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) for .Net Framework 4 / VS 2010

As you are a Windows developer go for 70-511 Exam

You no need to take up the lengthy 70-536 (for .Net 2.0) since this exam is no longer prerequisite for MCTS
Exam 70-511: TS: Windows Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4  http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-511#tab1

But 70-511 Exam is based on WPF Forms technology.

  • Hi,

AFAIK its not mandatory and you can take exams in any order so go ahead with 70-505 and after that you can write 70-536 .

  • I would also encourage you to go for .NET 4. The content are new but it does not require 70-536 any more!
