Vista Networking RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently baught a Action tech DSL modem/ wireless router and vista setup correctly to where i could go into the network sharing window see my connections but after the first reboot i am connected tothe internet BUT I have a red "X" over my tray icon for network and when i try to diagnose it doesn't find a problem but if I try to open that window again it just hangs and I have to task manager to close it - error says status-unknown  error server execution unknown if I try to setup a new connection to my broadband it just fails - I can redo the connection and get the log files if someone wants to see it.

I see where it can be that PPPOE is causing the problem with the connection box pops up but I have removed that connection and STILL when I try to go into my Network and Sharing windows it stops responding...

    Hello Dale,

These forums are for the support of Windows Genuine Advantage Validation issues. You post does not appear to be Vista Activation or Validation related and such is off-topic (as well as outside my area of knowledge).

I suggest reposting your question to one of the Vista Newsgroups at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=42486 or go to http://support.microsoft.com for additional support options.

    Thank you,
