CRM 2011 IFD Setup to use the initial sign on to the Active Directory credentials when users are there with in the Network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have scenario like this.

I configured one CRM 2011 Organization as IFD with secure certificate. Now i have both IFD Url and my local URL. Whenever i am using the local URL from within our network CRM is not going to ask me for my credentails and will take me into system. and if I use the IFD url then I have to give my windows credetnails even if i am within the network or outside our network.

Question: Is there way can I setup the CRM 2011 Organization like if I am in with in our Network and trying to use the IFD URL then system should not ask me for the credentials. it should behave as local url. it should cutomatically take my windows credentails and should get me into it.

    Any suggestions please

    Thank you,

    Babu

  • Hi Anjibabu,

If you use the IFD URL it will ask you for Username and password.

If use the Internal URL it will not prompt you for credentials.

The small settings you need to look at is,

    1. Did you create the SPN for ADFS while configuring IFD? if yes then you need to change the settings in IE.

    2. Add the internal URL in local intranet zone and in custom settings set login as automatically login with current user name and password.

  • I'm not really a networking guy, but the only scenario I can think of is if there is some way you can redirect users 'inside' the network from the IFD URL to the internal URL. (some combination of internal DNS, a redirect page, etc) But that's not something you can set within CRM.

  • Hi,

Internal URL i am fine. But I want the external IFD URL also should behave the same way when i am in our Internal Network.

When i am in our Internal Network, Both IFD and Local URL should not ask me for Credentails. If I am out of the network then for IFD it should ask me for my credentails.

    Thank you,

    Babu

  • Hi Anjibabu,

IFD is Form Based authentication not a Windows based authentication to login automatically with your credentials.
