Sonicwall GLobal VPN Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two computers at home from which I work, a desktop and a laptop(both using static addresses of nnn.nnn.nnn.122 & nnn.nnn.nnn.15.  Both are behind the home router/firewall.  I currently have port 500 forwarded to the desktop (.122). Sonicwall is 100% functional on the desktop. I can also change the router to forward port 500 to the laptop. which works..

The catch is I'd like to be able to change the client port on the laptop, then forward that port to the laptop.  This way I won't have to re-configure the router every time I want to either work on the back porch by the pool, or go sit in my home office and work from there on the desktop..

    Any solutions? Thanks

  • Why are you forwarding ports? In general, the connection is established from the client computer (laptop/desktop) to the VPN server in the office, and all required handshaking should happen automatically. Does your home router have a configuration setting that deals with VPN connections?
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
