CRM 2011: IFD - auth.domain.com vs orgName.domain.com

Hi,

We have an IFD configured with ADFS, and some of the users are randomly getting the login screen even before the session expires. Some user also recieve the occasional 404 Errors when using CRM.

I noticed that most of the time user's are logged into auth.domain.com instead of orgName.domain.com, what is the difference between the two? and could this be the reason they are getting the random login / error screens?

I think the auth.xxx.com is usually the norm for the login screen before it re-directs to the org.

I am not sure about the random errors.

To expand on the previous post the auth.* domain is used for the authentication. Once a user is authenticated, then they connect directly to orgname.*, which trusts the authentication token from the auth.* domain. How are you identifying which domain the users are logged into ?
