restarts on remote download or upload RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is automatic restarting for upload or down load from a remote location part of the software?

If for some reason the connection is lost, say a weak wireless signal, when trying to do these operations that may be very large amounts of data.  I was in Chile a couple of years ago and took about 3000 pictures and @ 7meg per picture is a very large amount of data.

    Has anyone experienced this?

  • I would not expect restart to be supported for uploads from a remote PC to WHS.

For downloads to a remote PC, if you download multiple files or an entire folder, WHS compresses your download into a single .zip file "on the fly" for transmission. You won't be able to resume that download either, as I'm sure WHS throws that file away when your connection drops out.

For a single file, you might be able to resume a download, depending on what download management software you use.
