  • Sorry, an MSDN Academic Alliance copy is not the same as having an MSDN subscription.  You would not have the materials Noel is talking about.  Contact your MSDNAA coordinator at your college.  Keep in mind that MSDNAA product keys are upgrade keys and I beleive that they are one-time only activations.  If you reinstall you have to get a new key.

KMS licenses require a base license to be valid - your machine is a Parallels VM,
AFAIK, KMS's are not valid in VM's.
You need to discuss this with the MSDN Concierge

  • Thanks so much, Noel. Who or what is an MSDN concierge? How might I make that contact?
    Saturday, May 14, 2011 5:21 PM
  • The MSDN conceirge is reached as a link on your MSDN subscribers page.  It is like a help chat link on some websites.

  • OK. Thanks. This seems to go along the way of infinite regress. I am unaware of an MSDN subscribers page, though I do have a windows live account. When I try to activate my MSDN account there, I am asked for somewhat mysterious information regarding the Benefit Access Number, Subscriber ID or MPN contact number. Are you able to clarify any of this?

When you got your MSDN details, you should have received a pack that contained something looking like a credit card with your subscription number on  it - together with details about the site and how to log in.
