LibUsbDotNet Device Manager Unknown Device Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have a nice day,
I am developing a program to communicate with libusbdotnet dll between device and pc in Windows operating system.
The device is using CDC (Communication Device Class) in USB class.

I created an INF file from the Libusbdotnet inf wizard and updated it to work with the inf files in the device manager.
But on some computers the inf file can not be updated.
The device appears as "Unknown Device" on the Device Manager.
I also get the following error during installation of the inf file:
"If there is a driver in the folder, make sure that Windows is designed to work with x64-based systems."

Personal 64-bit computers (W7, W8 or W10) accept inf file.
However, when there are restrictions on authority on the computer (IT authority restrictions) it does not accept the inf file.

I have tried many solutions for this error from some sources. I did not find the right solution.

The following questions about this issue

1.) What is the main reason for this problem?
2.) What are the Windows authorities to create this problem?
