Windows Live One Care Firewall

Question

I'm running Windows XP which has a Firewall. Why have Microsoft put a Firewall in One Care? Is it the same firewall system which replaces the XP one - I'm assuming you switch the XP one off when running One Care.

To add to Wenskie's reply the One Care firewall adds outbound protection, is more robust, and is much more configurable than the Windows firewall.Saturday, August 9, 2008 3:51 AMModerator

That is correct. The Windows firewall will be turned off when you install onecare. OneCare uses a separate module or service for firewall, so its different from the basic Windows firewall.Friday, August 8, 2008 9:35 PM
