  • Question

  • Well what I would like to know is if I set up my WHS up as a VPN server allowing it to accept incoming connections and I assign it a static IP will it work so I can connect to it and share files from remote locations in other cities? Anything beyond P2P networking and I am a little fuzzy and trying to learn more. What I did was went into network connections and added a incoming connection for VPN.

  • This is the place to start learning about configuring a VPN in a Windows networking environment. What you want is a "site to site" VPN.

Don't expect it to be easy to figure out, don't be too surprised if you don't get a huge amount of help here, and, given that using RRAS on Windows Home Server isn't supported, don't be too surprised if you can't really get it to work.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
