word 2002 product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to activate Word 2002 after reinstalling my computer.  The product Key on the side of the computer is incorrect.  I bought the computer with windows already installed with word from dell, and I'm pretty sure it is not a trial version.

  • Jeff,

Currently there is no Microsoft Office and/or stand-alone components installed on your computer.  In turn the product key on the side of your comptuer is called the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker which is for Windows and not Office. The only way any office components would have been installed on your Dell computer is if you physically used the build feature on their website and/or told a sales agent you wanted this preinstalled and paid for the product. More than likely you had a trial version previously installed by Dell.  Hope that helps explain your situation.

    Thank you,
