Off Topic: hdmi support for windows

  hi i recently accuired a 20 inch hd monitor im using a dvi to hd cable and just cant get a clear screen . in games its perfect but any other application in windows appeares fuzzy and um readable .. all my hardware is hd ready and ive tried using the nvidea settings plus cleartweak to clear it up with no joy can anyone help
