Deletion on sync RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I'm using sync framework along with SQL change tracking on server.

When I lose change tracking, if server has track of deletions. I have no way to sync other clients.

    Scenario is:

    1. delete records on client and sync to server.

    2. Turn off and turn on change tracking.

    3. sync identifies change tracking being disabled (hence re-sync all data again )

    4. while re-sync all updates / inserts gets into server. deletions are not picked up.

I understand as there is no track of deletion, the deletions couldn't happen on other clients.

what is the best way to identify and remove these records ???

  • why dont you grab the deleted rows before you do step #2.

there is a record for the deletions in the change tracking tables. but since you disabled it, you wiped it out.

when you re-enable change tracking, it can repopulate itself with the existing rows in the table. there's now way for it to repopulate the deletes because theyre gone.

  • check the UploadExistingOrCreateNewTable table creation option on the client.
