Robocopy help copying folders while preserving file structure RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I want to search a folder and copy all instances of a couple folders.  In the destination directory, I want robocopy to recreate the folder structure of the source directory if it doesn't exist already.  The folders I need copied are not in the root of the source folder.  They are in subfolders.  How can I accomplish this?

  • This is not a RoboCopy forum.  Please ask RC specific questions here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=win10itprogeneral

  • I read the help but it doesn't show how to accomplish this.  Why would you suggest I post in a Windows 10 HOME forum?  RoboCopy is a tool for all editions...including server.

  • This is a scripting forum and you are asking how to use robocopy.

robocopy is a system command line tool. The documentation is available at the command line (as jrv noted) or via a quick web search.

This forum is for script questions, but is not the right place to ask about system command line tools.
