user accounts in windows xp RRS feed

  • i have a problem here, i have only one user account on my pc and thats <myname> user account and i do not have any administrator account visible....

    although <myname> user is having the priviledges of administrator, then while removing some programs or making changes to the system configuration, it still tells me that only administrator can perform the changes...


    pls tell me why so?

    secondly, how do i enable the administrator account?...is it existing right now?

  • Can you please put a few more details, like what programs are u trying to Install/Uninstall and what is the error message that u r getting.

  • The administrator account is existing always.. It will not be displayed in the Welcome Screen normally (when no other account exists, only then will it be displayed)..

    To login into "Administrator" account, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice at the Welcome Screen.. Now type Administrator as the username and the corresponding password..
