Windows 10: Admistration Rights Error When Installing APP/ Programme

    Question

  • Kindly assist,

We run a network of about 12 PCs, on 2 PCs when we try to install anything now it gives following error:

"Do you want to allow this app from unknown publisher to make changes to your device.?"

It then asks for administrator log ins with username: ComputerName\KL-AK-9CE49957E5BA52  and frustrating thing is the set administrator password doesnt work.

I established that this could be part of the smart screen security setting but even when I turn smart screen off, still it asks for password and now we cant install or update anything on the 2 PCs.

  • Hello,

The Windows Desktop Perfmon and Diagnostic tools forum is to discuss performance monitor (perfmon), resource monitor (resmon), and task manager, focusing on HOW-TO, Errors/Problems, and usage scenarios.

As the question is off topic here, I am moving it to the Where is the Forum... forum.

  • Hello,

I'd ask in one of the Windows 10 IT Pro forums.
