  • How do I disable defraging on my solid state drive?

  • I've considered the Registry entry modification.

     

    I have now installed Kaspersky anti virus as an alternative.

  • There is no way to disable the defragmentation component of the tune-up, and the solid state drive is another good reason why the developers of OneCare need to rethink this situation.

  • I’m figuring that OneCare will eventually be given the smarts to read the drive descriptor and automatically disable the defragmentation feature for solid state drives. I don’t see any capitulation in that.
