Conferencing Certificates and Citrix Netscaler RRS feed

  • Question

  •

We're currently unable to use 3 (or more) party IM, our communicator clients are also unable to download the address book. Both issues seem to be related to certificates and accessing the https sites that OCS uses.

When we try and create a 3 person conference we see the following error logged on the OCS server:-

    Event ID 32065

Failed to send C3P request to Mcu. Conferencing requests for this Mcu type will be retried but if this error continues to occur conferencing functionality will be affected.

    Mcu Url: https://ocs.corp.com:444/LiveServer/MCUFactory/

    Resolution:

Ensure that the Mcu is provisioned and functioning correctly. If any network related errors are reported by the Mcu ensure that they are resolved.

However to get to this https: address the client is going via our load balancer (Citrix Netscaler). The Netscaler is configured with a virtual server, but reports the state of this as down (SSL disabled). We've tried installing the server certificate on the Netscaler, but it errors when binding, claiming it's not a server certificate (we've converted the cert from pks12 to pem, as the Netscaler requires).

We've used a standalone root CA, created for this trial and had that approve the certificate request from the OCS server.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Should we not be sending the SSL traffic via the load balancer. Our basic SIP traffic (port 5061) goes via the Netscaler ok.
