Bing Translation API : Limited translation & Paid api policy(schedule)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I heard Bing Translation API Limitation Policy that is 50 request(per min).

If use of api excess limitaion, print error code and reuse after 2minutes later.

I want 1,000 requset (per min) service but it is impossible that current condition.

So, if MS plan to paid translation api polocy or schedule, please let us know it.

    Thank you.

  • Hello Hobbes,

you can subscribe to the Microsoft Translator API at http://datamarket.azure.com. For all variants offered there the maximum throughput is 400,000 characters per hour or 2 million characters a day. If these limits aren't high enough for your application use, please send a mail to mtlic@microsoft.com, with your estimated throughput.

  • Hi Chirs,

You have mentioned about the throughput here.

But, this post has been answered long time back. Does this throughput value still hold even today for the different variants offered here - http://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/bing/microsofttranslator.

If yes, is it possible for me to increase/upgrade to a desired one ?

If not, what is the current throughput value ?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Nandaceg007,

the current limit is 6 million characters per hour per account, but remains at 400,000 characters per individual IP address.

Let us know if this presents a hardship.

  • Hi Chris,

Thanks for the prompt reply :)

    Consider this case:

I am subscribed to 2,000,000 characters/month. So, the limit of 6 million characters per hour per account will be ruled out as my subscription is less than total limit.

And I am making all my requests through only single IP address. So, if only 400,000 characters per individual IP address is allowed, how is it possible for me to make use of the remaining characters for that month ?

Will the limit 400,000 characters be replenished for each hour for the same IP ?

    Thanks again!
