Hi
Currently we are using CRM 2011 online.Want to know what is the backup and restoration policy ? And what is the procedure to setup a trial server for deployments/Customizations

Microsoft periodically backups up the CRM Online databases - if you need to restore you would need to open a support ticket (1-877-CRM-CHOICE (1-877-276-2464) Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. Central Time (UTC-6) in the U.S. and in Canada). I believe you can also request a backup that you can restore to an on-premise server - Restore a Copy of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online SQL Database
As far as a trial, there isn't anything special to setting it up - just head over to the link below and walk through the steps.
