Live Wrter stops working on startup

    Question

  • Hi,

I recently installed live writer to test a MetaWeblog service i was running locally. After putting in the connection details with localhost and the appropriate port live writer stopped responding with this error

    Description:
Windows Live Writer has encountered a problem: Invalid URI: A port was expected because of there is a colon (':') present but the port could not be parsed.

    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name: WindowsLiveWriter
      Problem Signature 01: CreateThis
      Problem Signature 02: 13
      Problem Signature 03: System.UriFormatException
      Problem Signature 04: 14.0.8064.206
      Problem Signature 05: 2.0.50727.3074
Problem Signature 06: Windows Live Writer
      OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.4
      Locale ID: 5129

    Additional information about the problem:
      LCID: 1033

Now whenever i start live writer it comes up with the same error screen immediatly. I have tried reinstalling live writer but it still comes up with this error before i even give it my connection information again. i cant even get into the program to see if i have written the port incorrectly

Where is this connection information stored so i can delete it and restart live writer with a clean slate.

Thanks for any help you can offer
