Only a 104 Days in a years subscription? RRS feed

    We just bought a new HP Laptop w/Vista 64bit and also Microsoft Equipt which has One Care and Office home and student 2007 with a One Year subscription.  The Kids at Circuit City were supposed to set everything up etc. yet we found it didn't have the Anti-virus protection.  It had everything but.  Being a seventy mile drive, I just reinstalled the software instead.  We now have virus protection but we are being prompted to upgrade our service since we only have 104 days left!  Aren't there supposed to be 365 days in a year?  If so, what do I do now?

  • I assume you are seeing the 104 days within the main OneCare interface. You should not be prompted for renewal until 30 days or so before expiration. When you reinstalled Equipt, did you activate with the same LiveID that was used to activate originally?

    If your subscription to OneCare shows incorrect or expired in OneCare

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

    If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.
