  • What happens when you Activate by Phone?

Note: If you have troubles with Activating thru the Phone Prompt, call again, but this time either select the option to talk to a Live Activation Rep or if there is no option, don't enter anything into the Phone Prompt.  That will force the Prompt to transfer you to a Live Rep.

    Thank you,

  • Hello Genesis_39,

Does the partial product key shown by the report *****-*****-BHFB9-R29D4-KFXKJ match the corresponding portions of the product key on your yellow-orange Proof Of License label that is inside your retail package?

Is this a full retail license or upgrade retail license?

Does the computer have a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) affixed to it?  If so, what is the version and edition of Windows listed on the CoA?

Don't know I've got this key from msdn subscription I had.

    It's a new key.And it's full retail license.

Just now I've remembered that some time ago I installed it on Virtual PC on my own PC and still have it here.So I've run MGADiag on it and got that it has
    Validation Status: Blocked PID

And I don't have Certificate of Authenticity, I don't even know what it is.

What is the reason for block?

  • Hello Genesis_39

The Product Key used in the above Diagnostic Report is not Blocked. My tool shows it to be Valid and Genuine.  In addition, I see that you have successfully Activated a copy of Windows XP using that product key.

I assume that means your issue is resolved. Is that correct?

    Thank you,

  • No I still get the message saying that i have to activate my windows.

It could be activated once from my virtual pc but now i try to install it from my second pc and it says that it failed to validate this key and that it's unable to continue activation without a valid key (the message is in russian originally so that's some kind of translation). Could it be due to the fact i have that pc connected to internet through the router?

Does it mean that if I activated a copy i can't reinstall it entirely from the scratch?
