Profile points, point history graph, pie charts and stats are inconsistent - what's going on? RRS feed

  • Question

  • First and foremost, quality contributions and interactions are most important. I enjoy contributing and interacting with the community which is the primary reason why I do what I do.

With this said, I would like to point out that the profile point and statistics system has become quite inconsistent.

At around 8:00pm Atlantic Time tonight (before some change), my profile stated that:

    • I had 3285 profile points
    • The points history graph indicated that I had 3435 points, +573

Now (approx 9:30pm Atlantic Time tonight, after some change), my profile says:

    • I have 3117 profile points
    • The points history graph indicates that I have 3267 points, +405 this month

Obviously the profile points and the graph is out of sync in both cases and that some update has occurred that has recalculated profile points overall.

For additional investigation purposes, I am providing the following details:

After looking at some other profiles, I believe I am not the only one who experiencing these issues... I know there have been some inconsistencies between the profile points and the points history chart for about at least a week that I have noticed but it is now affecting other profile areas... Can someone on the team please look into the issues I have identified?

    Thanks,

    Craig

  • I also noticed my points decreasing this afternoon over the course of an hour or two.  I didn't notice any activities missing or being removed, just recognition points.

  • Rich, thanks for the reply. I happened to have a couple of tabs open with my profile which helped for my comparison above. I follow your profile, so I noticed that your points went down as well.

In addition, I just noticed my Activity Feed also now has far less items in it than it did a few hours ago...

  • On my side I loose all Wiki article stats, by example I was aroung 20 new article, 200 edit and 180 comment now at 0-2-1, and I lost point related to those pages. Kinda a bug somewhere (a faulty sql query to retrieve the stat ??, because I still have the gold medal "Wiki commentator III", but only 1 wiki comment show on my stat - hehe)

  • I confirm a bug, the translation widget no longer work in the wiki too. (edited; and you no longer see who did the article, and the last user that did an article's revision)

  • We are currently experiencing some issues with regards to how points and statistics are being displayed. I have created a sticky post explaining the issues here:

    I hope this helps!

  • Craig,

It looks like everything is back to normal on your Profile. Please let us know if you believe that there is still an issue.

  • Tim,

Thanks for the update. Upon review, all of the 'math' related to my profile Experience page looks to be correct and checks out based on what I expect to see - thank you (and all others involved) for the correction. My profile wasn't the only one affected. The community appreciates it - great job!

My Activity page should have more items. If you wish to look into this feel free to do so, however with this said, my activity feed will likely be overwritten soon enough so I am not too concerned about it.

    Cheers,

    Craig
