Using MS Backup to restore files and reigstry RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently had to replace the entire root HD because of ongoing problems with Personal Anti Virus which is malware.  Fortunately I had a full back up of the root on a separate USB drive.  I used the MS Backup program to backup the structure and used the same software to restore all of the files to a new HD.  The problem is that the registry amount others did not come back and play.  I am wondering if I can do another restore command using the repair routine and hopefully regain the programs that were running at the time of the original backup.
