Maxtor One Touch Flashing Light RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • My new One Touch external has a blue light on the front that flashes constantly at one second intervals. I've tracked it to One Care's Virus and Spyware scanning. When I turn it off the flashing stops. I tried to go into One Care and set an exception for the whole D/ drive. But that doesn't work. There are so many files and folders in my D/ drive I don't know which one One Care is trying to access so I can add it as an acception. Any ideas?

  • When you say, it doesn't work, do you mean that adding D:\ to the exclusions doesn't work, or adding it doesn't stop the disk access? Adding D:\ to the exclusions is possible - I've got my D:\ recovery partition excluded on the laptop I'm now on.

Did you install any software with the OneTouch drive? I suspect that it and OneCare may be banging into each other and causing the constant disk access in some way.
