Help! LiveOne Care keeps prompting a previously successful installation again and again!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I don't know much about computers but I do know that once the installation shield comes up you are supposed to download the required installation and I do; however, the installation is one I have been prompted to install over and over... I get the following message after installation each time.

    Initializing installation... done!

Installing Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181) (update 1 of 1)...

Doesn't that mean the installation was successful? I don't know how to make this one go away, it is driving me batty. I have tried numerous times to download this.

I appreciate any and all help!!!!

  • It appears that there is a problem with that update on your PC. OneCare simply reports that the update is being offered and not installed and then directs you to Windows Update, it does not update Windows for you. Try the Windows Update Solution Center - http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527

Or you can contact OneCare support -

How to reach support - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

If it fails to validate your subscription, select the option that you are using a trial or beta copy and you can proceed to email support without validation once you've signed in.
