MS Visual Studio - database Syncronise RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I am planning the development of a small database application on a Mobile device containing Windows Mobile 2003 (O2 Xda).  I will be using MS Visual Studio as the programming language.

I currently have a MS Access 2003 database on desktop computer which I would like it to syncronise effortlessly with a database (sql) located on the mobile device, preferrably using wireless 802.11/b/g tcp/ip network, otherwise via activesync USB should be okay.

What would be the best approach to this?  If required, i could convert the back-end of the MS Access database to an SQL Server, or whatever is best for the PC.

I would prefer to use only free SQL services for both mobile and sql server if possible.

I would appreciate some information on this to find the best, cheapest and easiest solution.

Also, is it possible to connect to SQLCE server on mobile device from PC using 802.11 or ActiveSync? as this may allow me to import data directly into Access database using sql?

    Thank you.
