locked
toolbar lost after disconnecting RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use powerpack 2.

When I disconnect from the console and later reconnect or after installing an add-in I don't see the toolbar anymore.

I seem to have lost it..

How can I get it back .. if I am looking at the screen.. why not a button or something to get it back.

Now I have to restart the home server..

  • McAfee is included in an update from HP. I would consult HP technical support for removal. As an antivirus product, it's likely to be more involved than just uninstalling the add-in in the console.

  • Workaround:

    - open remote desktop en logon to the home server
    - open taskmanager
    - click on users (and on inactive user)
    - click on logoff and make sure the user is logged off
    - now open the whs console again from (a new session will be opened)

With this workaround it will work again withoud reboot.

  • It sounds to me like one of the add-ins you are using is causing a problem

Does this happen on every computer you have the console on?

What about if you use Remote Desktop to connect to the server and launch the console from there?

    What add-ins are you running?

Have you tried removing the add-ins and see if that changes things?

  • Hi

It seems to be a non-client pc related problem as it happens from time to time on several workstations

I have launched from the remote desktop the console.. but it did not show up when I launched he console.. What user must be used to startup the console.. I think it should be administrator?

    I got an error recently:

The previous attempt to open the windows home server console was unsuccesfull because there was a problem with the following file: HomeServerConsole.TOPSTANDARD.dll. If the problem persist please uninstall the add-in associated with this file and try again.

    After restarting it did work.

The dll however seems to be for the McAfee add-in which is part of the powerpack and cannor be removed as a add-in.. wonder how it should be done then.. without a full desktop.
