Backup from drives bigger > 2 TB is not possible RRS feed

  • Question

  • WHS does not support to Backup folders froms drives that are bigger as 2 TB. This is so crazy. Standard Windows 2008 R2 support drives bigger as 2 TB without any problem.
Is there a reason for this?

(I'm using a RAID 5 with 3 x 2 TB drives and want to backup several folders.)

R2 does not support backing up full volumes larger than 2 TB which is what
WHS 2011 Server Backup does. R2 only supports backup targets of larger than
2 TB when manually selecting files and folders which is not possible with
the WHS 2011 Server Backup Wizard.

You can't go home again, unless you set $HOME.

You are also able to select only few folders in the backup wizard. But you have not the option to select folders on volumes bigger as 2 TB. Standard Windows 2008 R2 Backup CAN DO this. (Backup is currently running on my maschine)
