WHS remote access - no 4125port open within network RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to get remote access running on my WHS.  It was working a few months ago but now the 4125 port says it is closed when I run nmap from within my home network.  Also i log into the remote shell and try to access the localhost http://127.0.0.1 but I get the start screen but am not able to enter any login information.  Is there a specific service that needs to be turned on?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no service specifically for Remote Web Workplace (which is what port 4125 is for).  If you go to your Remote Access website from outside your LAN, do you see the logon page?  Are you able to get to the shares through the website?  If you go to Shields Up! and do a port scan for 80, 443 and 4125, what are the results?  Did you install any applications on your server through the server desktop?
