Mesh needs to give much better warnings about Sync problems RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have had some confusing Sync issues that I was unaware of for several days, until I opened the folder involved on one of my computers.  There was just a small warning triangle on the thing that attaches to the side of the the folder.

Why is there not any more visible warning?  Checking all Mesh folders to see if there is a similar warning triangle on any of them is a laborious process.  There should be warning triangles on the Folder list in the Mesh system tray window at the very least, and preferably also a system tray balloon warning.

Not knowing about the sync issue I had caused me to lose a lot of time doing work what I thought I had already done, and I had done it!

  • I have to agree with you that the notifier doesn't do such a good job of alerting you to sync problems. Since the Windows Explorer extension that appears attached to Mesh folder Explorer views is so annoying, I tend to shrink it down and don't notice that there is a conflict. If I don't open the folder I may not be aware of any issues either.
I am sure that others agree with us, so have a look at this post regarding suggestions on Connect:
