  • The book with the 2.0 in the name is the first edition (using Visual Studio 2005). The other book is the second edition (Using Visual Studio 2008) and you should get the second book if you plan to buy any.

Be carefull that you do not buy any old stuff - even when people write blog entries with referencing these old books (Something that I do not understand, sorry!)

    With kind regards,

  • Yes, that book seems to be the right one. And if you buy a used book with a missing CD: I think you can download the sources on the MSPress website. Maybe you check that first before you buy it. I think it helps to have the examples on the system to play around with it. But even without that you can play around with everything but maybe you have to spend some more time on everything.

  • Hi,

The training kit. thorough study, and some practice are usually enough,
you can get a used copy of the self paced training kit on half.com or
    amazon.com.

Hmm. But that is a bad advice these days. Only old books listed there. The Self-Paced Training Kit is available in the second edition already! And Books about Version 2005 are out of date. I really hope that people prepare using Visual Studio 2008 or even 2010 (Where already the first books are available, too!).

So I don't think that these books are helpfull these days....

  • HI,

    Thanks... I'll look at it.

I've found "Mcts self-paced training kit(exam 70-536) : Microsoft .net framework application development foundation" and "Mcts self-paced training kit .net framework 2.0 application foundation book/CD package (Pro-Developer)[Hardcover]"

Could u please tell me the difference between the two? If i refer the contents of the books, both are same?

and im finding the two ISBN for the two books like ISBN-10 and ISBN-13? does it mean both are different?

    waiting for the reply

    Thanks
