"Restore did not detect your backup device" RRS feed

  • I am unable to restore my files using Windows Live OneCare.
    I select restore from backup in common tasks and after execepting the UAC permissions I choose custom restore, then Restore files from an earlier backup.

    I select my External hard drive from the list of connected backup devices detected

    Then I select my backup on the external hard drive from the list of available backups and click next

    OneCare goes off and thinks for a bit then a dialogue box returns the following message:

    "Restore can not continue"

    "Restore did not detect your backup device"

    This is very frustrating as my backup device had been detected earlier in the process but now it's not??

     

    Can you please help?
