I checked that article and it talks about articles' various points/achievement medals. It doesn't talk about forum's activity or other activities. I think this article may link to others on the similar topics.
In any case, for the forums:
Your answer has been marked by the person started a thread and the answer has been provided within 8 (?) hours - you get 20 points.
Same but marked by a moderator + 15 points.
Helpful vote - +5 points.
Answer but not within first 8 hours - + 15 by OP and + 10 by moderator.

Same also works the other way around when answer being unmarked. If, say, your answer was originally marked by moderator and unmarked by OP you end up with negative 5 points.
