Download windows 7 home premium - I already have product ID RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a dell inspiron 2320 machine that i purchased this week. I have got windows 7 home premium 64 bit installed on it. I plan to make it a dual boot system with linux. Once I format my system, how would I install windows again? Dell didnt provide me with any CD, but my windows product ID is with me. Is there any option available at Microsoft download center where I can download a copy of it and while installation I can enter my product ID in it? Please let me know at the earliest.

  • No.  You need to order the manufacturer's recovery disks.  And it is not a product ID that is on your label, it is a Product Key.  They are completely different things.  The Product ID is what you see on the System Properties page (press WinKey+Pause/Break).
