Phone normalization issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a strange problem I can't seem to track down. Incoming calls from cell phone #'s listed in our AD show up as +111 before the 10 digit phone #.  But, the 10 digit phone number that shows up isn't the calling party's cell #, it's the calling party's desk phone #.

For example, my cell # is (555) 333-1212
    My desk # is (555) 222-7777.

If I call 555-222-1111 from my 555-333-1212 cell phone, it shows up on my MOC client as +111555-222-7777 as the inbound calling party # even though i'm actually calling from 555-333-1212.

When I look in the S4 trace logs, it shows my desk extension is making the call (x7777) to my desk # 555-222-7777, when it should be showing my cell # is making the call.

    Any ideas?

  • This can be a configuration mistake in your Gateway that is connected to the Mediation Server, please check your gateway configuration
Can you list all your normalization rules in the Location Profile in Global Voice Properties in OCS ?

  • You'll want to know specifically how those numbers are being presented from the gateway to the Mediation Server. Is there something different about the way that they're presented versus the ANI for a different phone number? Are those cell phone numbers stored differently in AD?

I'm with the previous poster, I would want to see your normalization rules.
