Crystal report version compatible with VS2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm migrating a project from VS6 to VS2012. I have to migrate crystal reports also to support VS2012. VS6 uses Crystal Report 8.5.

    1. Pls let me know whether CR 8.5 is compatible with VS2012.

    2. What is the least version of Crystal Report that is compatible with VS2012.

    3. I tried installing CR13 for VS2012, but after installing I'm not able to find crviewer.dll & craxdt.dll. Pls let me know where these dlls will be available after installing the new SDK.

    Thanks

  • 1 Officially CR 8.5 is not compatible with anything released after 2001. No compatible test was made after the release date.

2 None. CR for VS2012 is not released yet. SAP is still working on it. Go to http://scn.sap.com/community/crystal-reports-for-visual-studio if you are interested in a release date. Go to the forum section there if you want to check showstoppers with using older versions of CR in VS2012.

3 Native programming support was deprecated in CR9 and stopped shipping in CR XI R2 (11.5), which was out of support a few years ago. You need to switch to .Net to use the versions still in support.

  • In-order to use Crystal Reports version 13.5 within Visual Studio 2012. can you suggest ways for it to work/ a option "Crystal report application" within Reporting template in VS 2012.

i tried installing CR from the following link:"http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_5.exe" even after it i am not able to view the CR option under reporting template.

  • I suggest you to visit SAP's forum given above, Microsoft does not support SAP's Crystal Reports. It is the other way around, SAP supports Visual Studio in its Crystal Report for Visual Studio product.
