  • This is probably the old problem that in order to get the support the MSDN subscription entitles you to get you need to login to the forums in exactly the way told you in connection with the MSDN subscription.

Only when you do that do the MS support people know that you are an MSDN subscriber and will get a notification saying that they should monitor your post in a special way.

If you don't there is no way that they can distiguish you from any other poster and so you might or might not get a reply.

  • Huh?  What?  Excuse me?  Pardon me?  What did you say?  Can you explain that more?

This is about as crazy as I could even imagine.  You have to log in the right way?  My goodness!

Now I have to figure out a new way to log into the SAME EXACT ACCOUNT, repost the same thing in the forum again; wait another two days, and hope that they recognize my MSDN subscription?

Where are the EXACT steps to login the right way?

Can't someone at MSFT just tell the guy in charge of the forum in question to do it?

    Stunned,

  • I'm going off what was necessary for support in the newsgroups where they had the same kind of thing included in MSDN subscriptions.

But it's clear there must be an *automatic* way to separate MSDN subscribers who get support within 48 hours from normal posters who might get support but for whom there is no guarantee of support.

There's no way anyone can maintain a list of users and then look at every post; check the poster against the list of users and then react or not react. It must be automatic.

  • LOL...

I still need the steps.  And this isn't the newsgroups, its the forums where my MSDN subscription seems to indicate I do not need to do anything differnet.

  • They have their own support methods. Let me know if you need them. I wrote a Wiki article on this.

    Thanks!
