Authentication for Front Page and Publisher 2002 RRS feed

  • Question

Received Student versions of MS software from DeVry University.  These licenses were suppose to be permanent.  I currently have the software on a Vista machine and were transferred over from an XP Home edition PC.   Purchased Office 2007 Ultimate and installed on recently purchased Vista machine.  When I try to download templates from MS, get authentication messages for Front Page and Publisher.  Other products from the Devry media are installed but I receive no message about these products. Tried to remove Publisher since Office 2007 has this product, but get error message.  Last time I got this message for Front Page, I uninstalled and reinstalled and it appeared to fix the problem,  now a couple of months later, the message appears again.   I have no idea why a) these messages appear because they are legitimate MS products installed with MS media and b) why I am unable to uninstall Publisher ?  Any assistance offered would be appreciated.

  • Mike,

Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.

Step 2 is tell us about the COA. Tell us:
    1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center?
    2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
    3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?
    4. DO NOT post the Product Key.
    5. Please also provide a short description of the issue you are experiencing.

NOTE: The data collected with the Genuine Diagnostics Tool does NOT contain any information that can personally identify you and can be fully reviewed, by you, before being posted.

    Thank you,
