Too many activations RRS feed

  • Question

  • I downloaded windows 7 pro through my college's onthehub/dreamspark program.

I recently had to reformat and reinstall, and during attempted activation, it said I exceeded my key count.

I have only put windows 7 on 3 systems, all mine.

The only change to my business system, is an updating of the bios.

How would I go about resolving this?

  • You need to contact the college - they are probably the ones who technically hold the license.

Having said that, as far as I know, DreamSpark Keys are valid for only one computer - you chould check your license terms.

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.

  • The terms when I downloaded it said that I had the three full installations. I make sure to read EULA's, due to the fact that I myself am a programmer.

  • Use the Activate by Phone method and speak directly and politely with a Microsoft activation representative.
