  • I have reformatted my Vaio TZ37GN on more than 5 occassions and then upgrade the Vista version to Windows 7 professional without any problem. I reformated my computer again and upgrade it to W7 Pro but received a message that the Windows 7 Reactivation has failed.

  • You should be able to make upgrades to your computer with no issues, but if you change the motherboard (with the exception of warranty replacement) your OEM product will no longer be valid. If you have reloaded your computer several times then a phone activation may be required. Attempt the following , let us know if it worked.

    Activate by phone

    1. Type "slui 4" in the start menu search box, hit enter

    2. Select country or region

    3. Dial the number, DO NOT select any menu options, just wait and a person will pick up.

    4. activate by phone.

  • Hello Ng Wai Kiat,

Not sure why you have cleanly installed so many times, but depending upon your circumstances, the system image combined with file-by-file backup included in Windows 7 Pro could be a real time-saver.

Third party products like Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image are very handy, too.
