Windows 7 deactivated after faliur to boot

Question
-
Hi yesterday my computer failed to boot. Windows tried
to do an Automatic repair but didn’t succeed. I then did an manual repair through
the cmd in the repair tool by running the commands bootrec.exe with fixboot,
fixmbr and rebuild. The 2 first succeeded but the rebuild couldn’t find a
windows installation. After a reboot windows booted normally, but my copy
had deactivated itself.My MGA diagnostic

In that case the installation is counterfeit - and you should scream blue murder at the vendor.
The reason that it didn't show until now, I suspect, is that running the fixboot etc. commands to repair the install also broke the hack that was holding the counterfeit license together.

It looks like you have replaced the motherboard. Your OEM SLP version of Windows is only licensed for the specific motherboard it came with.Tuesday, October 8, 2013 2:19 PM

I know that i didn't change the motherborad in the computer.
What can cause Windows to think that i did, and how do i solve the problem?
Tuesday, October 8, 2013 3:13 PM -
Your Product Key is one which is only valid on machines pre-installed by a large manufacturer - ASUS in this case.
Your motherboard is a retail one - which cannot have had Windows pre-installed on it in such a way.
From where did you purchase this Windows license? - pre-installed, or as a separate purchase, or what?
Is there a COA sticker for Windows on the machine?

Is this a laptop or desktop? If laptop, look in the battery compartment under the battery. From whom did you buy the computer?Tuesday, October 8, 2013 3:57 PM
-
It's a desktop.
Unfortunately (I’m starting to think) I got it second
hand from a private person. He allegedly got it in trade from a man that builds
desktops for customersTuesday, October 8, 2013 4:04 PM -
