Windows 7 Build 7600 Not a genuine product after motherboard change RRS feed

  • Question

  • A month ago my motherboard died and I had to change it to make it work again. I did that but now I notice ( the first time I open my computer after the change) that my windows 7 appears to be not genuine. I bought this computer in a shop and windows 7 was already downloaded in it so i'm a bit confused. My specifications are:

  • This copy of Windows was never valid on your computer.  This is an OEM SLP copy.

    Windows Product ID Type: 2
    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

OEM SLP copies are only valid when installed at the factory at the time the computer is built.  You computer was built on October 8, 2008

but Windows 7 was not released to manufacturers until July 24, 2009, ten months after it was supposedly installed on your computer.  This of course is not possible.  Your copy was copied from a newer computer and installed using an activation exploit.  If this was done at the shop you need to seek a refund.

Your computer originally shipped with Vista and you need to restore that copy or purchase a full license copy of Windows 7.  Your present copy will never activate nor validate.  It is pirated.
