How can I create SIP enabled accounts? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

The OCS2007 Public Beta ist running. Now I have three questions:
    a) I can't find how to enable SIP for my AD users. How can I do this?
    b) How can I change options like SIP Port from 5061 to 5060?
    c) And what DNS records do I need to set to make the automatic configuration (for Office Communicator) will work?

Sorry for that silly questions but it's the very first time I have contact with OCS...

    Thanks,
    Benni

  • Hi Benni

    a) You sip-enable your AD users by right clicking them and choose Enable users for communications server..., you will not have OCS-options in AD unless you run Active Directory users and computers from a 32-bit windows. To run Active Directory Users and Computers in 32-bit mode from a 64-bit windows, go to Run and type: mmc -32 dsa.msc.

    b) Sorry can't help.

    c) You will have to create a Host A-record for your pool(s).

Hope this will help you some Smile

  • Hi Hallvard,

    a)
Thank you! I tried to enable the SIP account on my DC and there is no OC-entries at the context menü. I didn't know that I have to do this directly on OCS. Now it's working. :-)

    b) and c)
Both are working fine after I found this

You can set the SIP Port in SRV record.

    Thank you!
