Problem with Option Value Prefix & Display Order for a CRM 2011 upgrade from CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0 to CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in the progress of upgrading a customer's MS CRM 3.0 system to MS CRM 2011.

    First we upgraded to MS CRM 4.0 and then to MS CRM 2011.

    We discover the following 2 problems:

    1. When we try to add a solution with a new publisher, we get an error on the Option Value Prefix number:

    1. You need to add a value between 10.000 and 99.999 (although the value equals 26.705). If we change the value manually, it is also not accepted. So a new publisher cannot be set.

    2. When we try to add a 1:N relationship, we get an error on the Display Order value:

    1. Again the display order value is invalid, it should be a number between 10.000 and 99.999 (althoug manually 25.000) entered, see log below

    Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: The nav pane order 25 is not allowed - it must be at least as large as 10000Detail:

      <TraceText i:nil="true" />
    </OrganizationServiceFault>

    1. When entering a value of e.g. 99.999, the log looks like:

    Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: System.FormatException: Microsoft Dynamics CRM has experienced an error.       <InnerFault i:nil="true" />
      <TraceText i:nil="true" />
    </OrganizationServiceFault>

    Any ideas how to solve this? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

  • Solved: if the Personal Standards and Formats (settings of Number, Currency, Time, Short Date and Long Date) of the logged-in User - who wants to add a 1:N relationship / Publisher - differ from the System Settings Organisational Standards and Formats, this error can occur.

    In our case it was because the separation between 1,000 and decimals 0.00 are different in US English and Dutch, where this is 1.000 and 0,00 respectively.
