  • Question

  •

    Hi,

When I try to run the Email Configuration Manager for CRM 4.0 I get a popup message saying:

"The E-Mail Router Configuration Manager was unable to read configuration information. Make sure no files in the current directory are locked, missing, or inaccessible. To try again, restart the E-Mail Router Configuration Manager"

Also get this Error in the event viewer:

#6188 - The E-mail Router service cannot connect to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Live server to access user and queue information. Verify that the account that is used to run the E-mail Router service has sufficient permission to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server and that there are no connectivity problems. This is a fresh install of CRM 4.0, the rest of the CRM functionallity are working fine on all Outlook clients.

Does anyone have an idea whats wrong?

    Thanks,

    /Johan Lindberg

  • Hi Johan

When you reinstall the email router you should point it to a new directory, the files that are in the current directory are corrupt. It worked for me, hope it works for you.

  • Hi CRM Lady,

I have not solved the problem just deactivated the use of the email router and using Outlook to handle the CRM email service.

Will try your suggestion about re-installing the email router tomorrow and direct it to install at another location, thank you!

    Best regards,

    /Johan

  • Hi,

I faced a similar problem with CRM 4.0 Email Router. (Note: Rollup 17 was already installed on server)

To fix this problem I did the following

    1)        Stopped the email router service. ( Start -> run -> Type services.msc -> find Microsoft CRM email router service-> right click on the service and click stop)

    2)         Rename the Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.Configuration.bin located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Email\Service folder to Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.Configuration.bin.bakup

    3)        Restart the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Email Router service.

    4)        Now launch the Email Router Configuration Manager from the start program. A new Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.Configuration.bin will be created, and a blank configuration will appear.

    5)        Configure all the profiles and the deployments.

    a.        If you need help in configuring the Email Router and redeployment of existing deployment rules have a look at Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.xml file (C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Email\Service folder).

    Hope this helps
