change email status to draft from received RRS feed

  • Is there a way to change the email status from received to draft/open?

    When an email is tracked up into Dynamics it automatically changes the status to received which causes problems with our other workflows which are looking for open/draft emails or activities

    If anyone has any suggestions we would be very grateful

  • you add condition in the workflow to ignore (emails status  = received) if want to exclude it from business rules.

    or Just add logic specific for received emails.

  • Mail that are you receive or are sent by you are treated as completed activities and hence they are updated as closed in CRM when tracked.

    However, do remember that before the activity state is changed to completed it was "Created" so if you are looking for workflows to work on draft/open email activities, you could even look to fire the workflows on "Create" event of email which would always fire for all completed activities and i believe at that stage the state would have been open.
