Can't normal boot in Windows7. Have to use safe mode w/networking.

  I ran a Windows7 update today and can only boot in safe mode now. Dell Vostro 3400 with 250 of 280GB of free space on the c:drive.  System Restore is disaabled. I found a worthless free registry fixer on line and it did nothing. Been looking at support chats all afternoon and nothing is relevant. Help.
