Is there a more usefull enterprise resource usage view for the coming week(s) in ms project server 2010 when resources are allocated for more than one project RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering how I can get a more usefull resource usage view for teamleads.

The resource assignment view almost does the trich in pwa. But when you set start and finish date, still a lot of other projects show up with no assigned hours for that resource.

So if i would query a resource assignment for next week i still get rows from other projects while the resource is not assigned to that projezct in that period.

  • I use the resource assignment view, but then use a filter to show assignments where %complete is not equal to 100.  Optionally I export the file to excel.  Also, I've written Excel services reports that look at assingments too, brought out from the OLAP cube (timephased data).

additionally, you can use the Team Planner which might help too.

  • Thanks for your input.
I also use the filter to eliminate the records with no data in them.
But it is very frustrating to keep the view start dat and end date en the dates in the filter in sync.
Teamplanner doesn't work for me. A rather pourly thought true feature in my opinion.

I'm very intersted in your excel service reports. Have you any resources  that can get me started?

  • Hi Plessers,

I would review Andrew's blog - http://azlav.umtblog.com/2013/03/25/timephased-capacity-reporting-with-odata/ - there is plenty of good info here...
